Should Christians be creating Vision Boards? Have you seen the “Shocking Youth Sermon?”

Just a couple of links from around the web this week. Something new and something old. Rather than send you off to read five or six suggested blogs, I’d love it it if you just watched the Paul Washer sermon below if you’ve never seen it. Enjoy! -AR

Should Christians be Creating “Vision” Boards?

I’m too old and too un-estrogeny to understand the fasciation with Pinterest, squiggly scrolly lettering, and many of the stylings of today’s Christian millennial women.

This includes the just-passed choosing of a theme word for the new year and the whole crafting a “vision board” thing. However, T.R. Noble over at Inside the Cup is spot-on in her cautious word for any Christian women allured by the idea of a Vision Board. I wish I could send every Millennial Christian woman to T.R.’s discerning and helpful article.

Paul Washer’s “Shocking Youth Message” is Making the Rounds Again (and That’s a Good Thing)

I was just telling my best friend about this sermon at dinner last weekend. Then I see it highlighted on another blog this week. God used this message in my life powerfully when I was new Christian around 2005/2006. If you’ve never seen it, I would encourage you to watch it; it’s definitely not only for teens.

Paul Washer was a missionary in Peru for over a decade. He is the founder of HeartCry Missionary Society, which (as their mission statement says), exists, “to glorify God and bring the greatest possible good to humankind through the preaching of the gospel and the establishment of biblical churches throughout the world by means of equipping and mobilizing indigenous churches and missionaries.”

By the way, Paul didn’t name it, it just got the name “the Shocking Youth Message” once someone posted it on the Internet.
